I once coached a student (we’ll call him Mr. C.) who had brilliant ideas but spoke like he wanted to disappear. He mumbled, avoided eye contact, and fidgeted nervously. His words were powerful, but his presence? Unconvincing.

So, I gave him a simple challenge:

“Before you say a word, own the space.”

We practiced: ✅ Walking into a room with purpose. ✅ Holding eye contact for just a few seconds longer. ✅ Taking a deep breath before speaking instead of rushing through his words.

The transformation was mind-blowing. At his next presentation, he walked up, took a moment to stand tall, made eye contact, and started with a confident pause. And just like that, his audience leaned in. They were ready to listen before he even spoke.
